Financial Accountant

Echelon Data Centres was established in 2017 by the main principal of Aldgate Developments, a leading commercial property developer and owner of major commercial office buildings in Central London and Dublin. The objective was developing, operating, and owning a network of large-scale, responsibly designed, sustainably powered data centre campuses across Europe to meet the rapidly expanding global demand for data processing and storage solutions. Since then, the Echelon Group has expanded to ownership of six sites across Ireland and the United Kingdom and has secured >€1bn of funding to develop sites for hyperscale occupants. The Group’s second campus will go live in Q4 2023.

Located in Sandyford, Dublin, Echelon Data Centres is now seeking an ambitious accountant to join the team and provide finance support for the rapidly growing Group. The office-based role provides an excellent opportunity for progression and will report to the Finance Manager and work closely alongside the CFO.

Duties:

  • Working closely with the finance team to maintain reliable and accurate underlying financial information.
  • Monthly reporting to investors, including:
    • management accounts
    • investor reporting requirements
    • financial commentary
  • Managing the financial statement preparation and audit processes.
  • Preparing finance information for management meetings.
  • Collaborating with financial accountants to oversee the accounts payable & receivable processes.
  • Understand and apply appropriate accounting policies and recommend appropriate approaches for accounting for new transactions as the Group expands.
  • Aiding in financial modelling for future investment opportunities.
  • Implementing and improving the Group’s internal controls.
  • Company Secretarial activities:
    • Lodgement of annual returns, VAT, RCT & Corporation Tax Returns
    • Registration of new companies
  • Act as the first line of defence in the identification and management of risks.
  • Project financial management.
  • Providing ad-hoc finance support to members of the management team as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Robust technical accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent project management and financial analysis skills with strong attention to detail.
  • IT literate with proficiency in MS Suite with Excel to intermediate/advanced level.
  • Exceptional self-management skills with a proven ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ambitious individual with intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Pro-active with experience working on own initiative in a busy office environment.
  • Flexible, positive, and innovative approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good team player.
